Paid and free-of-charge parking facilities available at several locations. However, guests are strongly advised to use public transportation as best as possible, especially on Sunday, due to extensively deployed road blocks and aggravating traffic jams around all areas surrounding the venues.

The 40th Gamagori Festival Noryo Fireworks Display is 2022. The theme of this year’s fireworks display is “Big Summer Gorgeous.” Sei-sanshakudama which will reach 650 meters in diameter when opening that is the biggest around the coastal line of the Pacific Ocean are set off three times. This is a must to see as well as to the special Starmines launched at the climax.
Held over a period of two days, the Gamagori Festival is a city-wide event that starts on Saturday with lots of stage shows, live performances, dances, and food booths carried out at several places around Gamagori Station. Spend an entire day at Gamagori Festival or take a little side trip to enjoy some nearby sightseeing!
The multiple events continue throughout the day on Sunday, and at night the climax of the festival comes with the Gamagori Noryo Fireworks Festival. The word “noryo” means “refreshing after the heat,” which is fitting for the twilight time when the fireworks start.
The highlight of the Noryo Fireworks Festival is the Shosanshakudama firework with a diameter of 90cm. This firework is launched from a barge on the ocean expanding to 650m diameter when launched. This is the largest firework on the Pacific Coast and 3 different varieties of these are launched in one night.
This display of fire flowers is special because it boasts the largest explosive round in the entire Pacific Rim, an astounding 90 cm-diameter shell weighing around 200 kg, shot from a special mortar installed on a barge floating nearby in the coast which creates a huge shining star over 650 meters of diameter. Usually, three of those impressive rounds are shot at the peak of the event, and the tens of thousands of awed spectators instantly know when they are launched from the sheer shock wave impact of both cannon and round explosions. The flash lights up the whole Gamagori coast and its famous landmark, Takeshima Island, and together with the background music adds to the show’s unforgettable magnificence.
Needless to say, besides the above mentioned mega-explosive, there’s the incredible show of regular-sized fireworks lit in an amazing pyrotechnic fantasy of lights and sound, an experience sure to make for an everlasting memory of your stay in Aichi.
