  1. John its about time you apply for Japanese citizenship just ditch the rapidly going down hill USA..

  2. Wow, John, You are in a Very Fine suit. Great.
So, Thanks for Coming up with this massive Building. This may not be that far from Sumida River.
Hope We could hang around it's Observation Floor in our next Visit Thanks for your Fine updates. . John. Our Regards to your Loving Family too. Take Care.

  3. Yes Japan hurry up and fully open up
I’ve got a lot of Yen leftover from my last trip still burning a big hole in my pocket. 😁
    ✈️✈️✈️✈️✈️✈️✈️✈️✈️✈️
    Love the suit John

  4. That part about how they're going to put a bunch of edo style buildings around the skyscraper is interesting. When it's done, you'll have the two styles of architecture symbolising modern Japan rising out of it's past.

  5. I don’t understand why they build so high up when there’s no real view. The skies are so gray with smog in Japan. It’s a mass of urban buildings. I’d rather have a view in Hawaii with blue skies, ocean and mountains with greenery. That would be worth it.

  6. Reminds me of downtown San Francisco not too long ago when entire city blocks were curtained off due to high-rise office and condo construction in the new Transbay Transit District around SOMA. I completely share your enthusiasm for seeing new buildings go up. I've always loved tracking the progress of new construction like this! It makes me feel like as if we are progressing toward something better. A better future if you will.

  7. Another Roppongi complex and that is a tall building. It's going to be the second tallest building when Tokyo Torch is complete. If there is a disaster, you may need a parachute to save yourself. Have you seen Nakagin Capsule Tower recently? Thanks John.

  8. Hi John, actually if you go to Tokyo tower and walk toward kamiyachou eki direction(where you will pass by a church) at night, you can see Tokyo tower reflecting on the glasses of that building. It’s quite pretty!

  9. Just now subscribed to you as I’ve been loving your channel for a while now… when I realised what gave me the push… You ditched your old mans flat cap..!! 😱😂🥳🎉🍾.. you really don’t need it you know….👀🤗!

Love your energy & looking forward to seeing so much more wonderful content…🌸👍👍🥰

  10. But this building will be overtakend by new building that have been constructing near the Tokyo station.

  11. I've been eyeing this project since before they started on the building. I'm in awe at how fast Japan builds skyscrapers. I'm really exciting for this modern-village concept.

  12. john could you do a walk around yurakucho staion area there is a lot of little busiinesses under the rail way arches

  13. Does it have Observatory also? ..hope it has like in shibuya scramble and Roppongi hills does vie will be great

  14. Wow major development happening in Tokyo as we speak! Cannot wait to visit as soon as tourism is allowed again

  15. Those Dogs probably have much more hair to cut then you … I hope …
then Again its probably easier with a dog then cutting a hyper active johns hair 😉

  16. John, Thanks for the tour. Perhaps Tokyo's metamorphosis should be changed from what appears to be a growing downtown urban development (infrastructure for education, health, justice, solid waste, markets, street pavements and cultural heritage protection) of downtown Tokyo to a Metropolis. The overall build reminds me of the 1927 movie, Metropolis. Perhaps what was stood out in this movie were the projected skyscraper builds versus the current low profile buildings. Hence, when you did your walk thru I was disappointed at what will be happening to Tokyo's urban development and how the persona of downtown Tokyo will change. Then I viewed a video segment of Iwata prefecture and this will be reminiscent of what Tokyo was.

Hence a name for that building, being the building block of "new" Tokyo should be "Metropolis" or "Tokyo Metropolis".

  17. Thank you for the gander at the building, and the updates on the conference. I hope to see a video on what one of those billion dollar rooms looks like.

  18. How prepared are they for fires in that building? First thing that came to mind was The Towering Inferno movie. Assuming the cost includes cyber security on maximum scale, especially with all the embassies.

  19. You looked good dressed up. What do you say to wearing the shoulder bag strap under your jacket? We won't see the bag or the box attached. And, how about monitoring your volume beforehand with an earpiece? Good one, John. Thanks.

  20. Hi John, Saudi Arabia is such a nice place. The people are so hospitable. They are actually going full speed on their tourism campaign. I'm planning to visit there next year. Japan and Saudi Arabia has a long history of friendship. It even got stronger in the past 10 years. I'm not surprised that Kanae wants to go there. Also, there is a reason why Mayor Koike is fluent in Arabic.

  21. I just finished a series on HBO max called Tokyo Vice with ken watanabe and rinko kikuchi. It’s Tokyo in the 90s with a white reporter and yakuza and bar hostesses. It’s pretty good. I liked it. The actor that played the reporter took heavy Japanese lessons and sounds very impressive.

  22. It’s very expensive there in Azabu‼️Most of the international embassies are located there 👍

  23. Is it just me or does ONLY in JAPAN look like a white guy giving asian culture a try?
Ironically he knows way more about it probably than the average asian.

  24. I would love to know how come you met the ambassador ? whats going on? Love your vids and your enthusiasm 💞

  25. Would love more coverage of this! Any chance for a 1080p or 4k tour please good sir? 🙂

  26. Can't recognize the Tokyo that's constantly changing. Harder to find the old and authentically vintage anymore, especially in the back streets. It's all getting gentrified and with the Olympics hosting sped that up. Structures in Japan generally don't last that long with new building safety codes.
I guess expats can't "find you" live at this time or US servicemembers being not far from New Sanno Hotel in Minamiazabu 4-Chome near the French Embassy.

  27. The Tokyo Tower it is still a bit taller than the Toranomon-Azabudai main tower (332m vs 330m) but it is a tower just like the Sky Tree so they really aren't competing, it absolutely looks like a needle in comparison though.

I don't think the "Toranomon-Azabudai main tower" is going to have an observation deck but look up Tokyo Torch, an even taller skyscraper soon to start construction which will have a "plubic plaza" at a height of 300m.

  28. You always publish a lot more videos, when i can't watch hehe 😜… I moved to other side of my city after 4 years…a lot of things to do….now watch videos 🙂
