Are you going to live in Montreal? My favorite city!
actually, people like not just bikes make it worse. their foamer fanaticism/tankie ideology pushes people away from transit projects. No, putting rail everywhere doesn't make sense. In some areas BRT and regular buses makes sense. Also planning for rail transit take at least 10 years because there are many different factors you need to consider. I am in favor of transit, but when people like, not just bikes, tell people they all need to live in a tiny box so they could take a train, you will always have pushback. I think people like him hurts transit advocacy. It is like that female youtuber living in Germany, who recently said that row houses are banned in the US. I pointed that they do build new row houses and she called me a liar. That type of attitude again causes people to push back against high density housing and transit.
4:10 Is where he starts.
LA canned any more CRRC cars, right now they are still getting 64
producing content at a high frequency by yourself isn't healthy, a small team can do it
Hey I’ve watched hundreds of your videos and appreciate what you do
Can you please do a video on the problems with the transit system in Miami Dade
I really enjoy your channel good point about developments in Toronto.. yeah we need a lot of renovations in Toronto subway system.. we need more coverage by CP24 n CTV news n CBC we also need a bullet train service at least connecting Toronto to Halifax at 300 kph to 400 kph the flights are really polluting and Pearson is a huggge let down >_<
When I first discovered this channel, which was only a couple of months ago, I was in isolation due to having caught covid (on a train when eating my lunch, having otherwise worn a mask religiously), I found myself watching video after video after video, so I subscribed, and it's been a joyous experience. Those reuploads, I'm watching them for the first time, so thanks for that. The knowledge and detail in every video you post is amazing. I have watched, Geoff Marshall for years, his adventures during the all the stations are videos I turn to when visiting a new area, to see if there's anywhere on a train to visit from where I'm going. In fact, I'm going to Devon for the first time in September and I've been researching the train options for places to visit and came across a video about a train station with no trains, it's close to where I'm going but I don't think I'll have time to do it, but I may get time to go on the train that does connect to it, via boat. Without videos like yours and others, I wouldn't know about so many things to do with transit, keep enjoying what you do, and thanks for sharing it.
Could we get a Crayoning with Reese: Calgary?
Hey do your thing at your pace. You make some of the greatest transit content on the INTERNET and I can't wait for your next video. I don't think I would be so into transit without you. I hope more revenue comes so less stress comes your way. Thank you for all your hard work!
Don't worry about your quality to much, since 2020 it has been amazing but it is somehow still improving especially in the animations and editing department.
Hey rm hows it going I am hoping you would get into a topic that i think is neglected by urbanist youtubers but is an important part of city planning and ubanism and that is freight rail and in particular urban freight rail. Obviously having all or most of the goods in a city transported by convoys of trucks as is often done in the states requires significant land and investment in car/truck infastructure and is bad for bad for walk/bikability and is definitely bad for the environment. You have already done amazing breakdowns of various urbanist cities passenger rail system but have not mentioned much about cargo rail. For example how does tokyo run cargo rail with one of the worlds best passenger systems do they do they have seperate allignements or do they share are there mixed cargo and passenger trains do they mostly use depots or direct rail spurs to clients how do they do scheduling in particular in cases where cargo and passenger share alligenments these are all questions i and i think most of ur veiwers have living in countries that have excellent cargo rail and kind of have passenger rail sometimes i guess
I want to live in Toronto so badly in order to live car free and enjoy the city life (whilst being relatively close to all my family in Ontario still). NIMBYs often paint the picture that transit advocates are going to force everyone in the suburbs to live in the city. In reality, it’s financially infeasible for the people living with their parents in the suburbs who want to move to downtown Toronto. People like me wish governments can do something so we can actually live that car free city life that we want, that’s all.
Hey, could you do a "step-by-step" video on how a city could implement good public rail transport according to your expertise? Thanks already in advance 😀
Great presentation, we at SELRAP could do with your help on a new video promoting the reopening of the Colne to Skipton rail line
THE LEAF GOES BY MY HOUSE IN GRIMSBY ONTARIO. THATS AMTRACK BETWEEN NEW YORK AND TORONTO!
I've just moved from Hong Kong to Toronto. Since you have just done a MTR special, let's say….. It takes some effort for me to try to love the good old TTC 😅
(I am quite impressed with Go Transit though. Fancy trains and buses with smooth service. Doesn't hurt that it has a very strong cooperate identity)
I just want to say that the green line in Calgary is finally, (somewhat), underway! Can you please make a video on it and take us through the plans?
As someone from Toronto, I just think your channel is so cool
8:48 This channel is the only consolidated source for transit news in the GTHA. Link me if I'm wrong. The amount of transit construction here and now is more than it's ever been.
The uTube algo is a fickle woman. RM Transit content tends more toward evergreen content than breaking news. Try mixing it up with some live-streams anytime there are protests in your area. Lots of Canadian micro-uTubers blew-up during Ottawa Convoy. Talk & interview for transit during a protest and the subs will flow; the content can be as tangential to the protest as you want — that audience pool is DEEP. Good luck out here! 🙂
