Inside Traditional Japanese merchant houses with Tranquil Gardens – Gokasho, Shiga

Today I’m visiting 2 traditional Japanese houses in a small town of Gokashō in Shiga prefecture. Every year from the middle of February, residents in the neighbourhood would display their ornamental dolls to the public. In the Gokasho area, these dolls are displayed all together inside the grand Japanese villas of Omi merchants.

0:00 Introduction about Gokasho and Omi merchants

  1. I've started watching from your first video (I have forgotten which channel referred you) and am impressed with the quality of editing and composition. In the US we have a public television show called "This Old House" where old houses are refurbished and brought up to modern standards. We have seen Jaya work on his house on Tokyo Llama, too, so we are delighted to see how your projects progress!
