This man-made canal runs through Omihachiman City and is connected to Japan’s largest lake – Lake Biwa. The canal was once used to transport goods to Osaka, Tokyo and other parts of the country via Lake Biwa. You can admire the historical buildings and rustic Edo Period charm on a traditional boat cruise.
