Here’s how to pay for things in Japan using Suica and Apple Pay with your iPhone. This travel hack / travel tip will show you how to add Suica to your Apple Wallet. Suica is a popular contactless payment option widely used in Japan. It is so convenient to pay for things like transportation, drinks at vending machines, and at convenient stores like 7-Eleven, Lawsons, and Family Mart. Some fast-food places even except Suica.
Please note not all iPhones will work, in this example I am using my iPhone XS, but it should work with any iphone that has NFC (Near Field Communication). This allows you to use the contactless pay function or tap and pay at just about anywhere you see a Suica logo.
If you have trouble finding Suica in Apple Wallet you may have to go into iPhone Settings / General / Language & Region / and change to Japan. You can always change back your Region settings.
You can also use this trick to add PASMO (Another popular contactless payment system in Japan)
