Chichibugahama Village is located in Mitoyo, a small town in Kagawa Prefecture that’s about a 90-minute drive from Takamatsu Airport. It’s often overlooked by visitors in favor of its more famous neighbor, Naoshima. While Naoshima is the main benefactor of Benesse billions (the company funds arts tourism initiatives such as the Setouchi Triennale), Mitoyo owes much of its recent tourism to a more unpredictable phenomenon — going viral on Instagram thanks to its sunsets.
