Hidden in the forest on the banks of Lake Ashi (aka Ashinoko), The Torii of Peace looks particularly spectacular shrouded in mist. With a history dating back more than 1,200 years, there is plenty to uncover at the peaceful Hakone Shrine. Part of Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park, the combination of mountains, forests and water will certainly offer a respite from the larger cities.
