Doesn’t this pagoda nestled in a verdant green forest, lit up at night, just look magical?
Rurikoji Temple in Yamaguchi Prefecture is known for its five-storied pagoda—one of Japan’s most famous and a national treasure. The temple is located inside of Kozan Park right smack in the middle of downtown Yamaguchi city. The temple proper and the pagoda are certainly scenic during the day, but illuminated at night, it is absolutely wondrous.
And if the pagoda here has got you itching to see more, there’s even a museum in Kozan Park with 50+ models of pagodas from around Japan. There’s also the Rosan-do teahouse nearby where the plot to take down the Edo Shogunate in the mid-19th century was born!
Wonderful nighttime photos, @sam_vezel and @hidechan226! Thank you both!
