Nankinmachi, Kobe’s Chinatown is a Japanese Street Food Paradise. As part of our Kobe Japan Travel Guide, we’ll show you the top things to do and eat in Kobe city- starting with its famous Chinatown. Nankinmachi is the largest Chinatown in Kansai and one of the three major Chinatowns in Japan- along with Yokohama Chinatown and Nagasaki Chinatown. As Kobe is only 30 mins from Osaka it is Japan’s perfect day trip and should not be missed especially if you visit over the Chinese New Year period as many festivities are held!
