February 22nd is Cat Day in Japan! It falls on this day because “meow” in Japanese is “nyan”, which sounds similar to the Japanese word for two (ni). A fun place to celebrate the day is at Tokyo’s Gotokuji Temple, which has hundreds of maneki neko (beckoning cat statues) on the grounds. 🐈🐱
