When you arrive to Japan it’s common for your eyes to look up and see Tokyo Tower, Sky Tree, neon lights… but sometimes all you have to do is look down and see something you have never seen before. Japan manhole covers are a big hobby in Japan. It is so popular the sewer and water works even started making trading cards (along with other collectables). I’m hoping to make this into a series of other cities and their unique art on manhole covers.
Come along with me on the hunt for the different manhole covers in Shizuoka City. Each City has their own trading card and their own special designs. Let see how many we can collect.
You know I’ve been in the Navy too long… I keep calling the manhole covers deck drains.
