The troubled Tokyo Olympics have now ended, with the results being a mixed bag (more on that in our commentary below). With a record number of cases both in the capital and nationwide, Japan has placed 8 more prefectures under a quasi-state of emergency. Additionally, Tokyo and 5 other prefectures remain under a full state of emergency that will run until at least September 12, 2021.
