Stairway to heaven? 👀 An amazing view of Matsushima Bay awaits those who climb up 202 stone steps leading to the main entrance of Shiogama Shine in Miyagi Prefecture. From its hilltop location, the shrine is believed to house the guardian deities for sailors and fishermen who work on the rough seas. In winter, dusted with fresh snow, the towering stairway creates a grand and fairytale-like entrance to the shrine. ⛩️❄️
