Walking in Narai Juku.

Narai Juku, the richest of the former post towns, was the 34th of the 69 stations of the Nakasendo route (one of the 5 routes of the Edo Period and one of the two that connected Edo, present-day Tokyo, and Kyoto) as well as the 2nd of the 11 stations in Kisoji.

Took the Shinano limited train from Nagoya to Nakatsugawa and transfer to a local train bound for Kumamoto and alight at Narai Station. Narai Juku is just a minute walk from the train station. After exiting the station, just walk to your left and you will find the preserved area of Narai Juku.
