1967.JAPAN Kyushu.Tourist destinations such as Kagoshima and Miyazaki. Video while traveling.

Kyushu is one of the islands that make up the Japanese archipelago and is located in the southwestern part of it. It is one of the four major islands along with Hokkaido, Honshu, and Shikoku, and is the third largest island among them, and is the 37th largest island in the world after Spitsbergen (Norway). The name Kyushu Island is also used in geology and archeology. Kyushu, its associated islands, and Okinawa Prefecture are collectively called the Kyushu region. The highest altitude in Kyushu is 1,791 meters (m), which is the altitude of the Kuju mountain range and Mt. Nakadake in Oita prefecture. The highest altitude in the Kyushu region is 1,936 m, which is the altitude of Mt. Miyanoura on Yakushima in Kagoshima Prefecture.

Primary industry
In the primary industry, agriculture, fisheries, and forestry are well-balanced and widely distributed in each prefecture of Kyushu, and the shipment value is also large. Taking advantage of the warm climate, double cropping of rice, barley and wheat is carried out in the Tsukushi Plain. In the Miyazaki Plain, forcible cultivation of vegetables is carried out using greenhouses. In addition, sweet potatoes, mangoes, pomelo, bananas, etc., which are native to the tropical and subtropical regions, are also produced. Kagoshima and Miyazaki prefectures are unsuitable for rice cultivation because they are soils on the Shirasu plateau, and livestock farming is flourishing.

Secondary industry
In the secondary industry, the material industry such as steel and coal and the energy industry have historically flourished, centering on the Kitakyushu industrial area. In addition, heavy industries such as Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Sasebo Heavy Industries (Nagasaki Prefecture) are also active, rubber industries such as Bridgestone in Kurume City, and chemical industry centered on coal from Miike Coal Mine in Omuta City, Nobuoka City. Asahi Kasei has developed a chemical industry centered on petrochemicals. In recent years, due to the advancement of the IT industry, the global market share in the semiconductor field has reached 10%, and it is called “Silicon Island”.

Tertiary industry
The ratio of the tertiary industry to the industrial production value of Kyushu is high, and the entire area of Kyushu is developing as a market. Fukuoka Prefecture is the center of wholesale business in Kyushu, and 62.5% of the annual wholesale sales of Kyushu as a whole is in Fukuoka Prefecture. In the retail industry, small stores and department stores are generally sluggish, while large stores are increasing. In Kyushu, the increase in drugstore sales and the number of stores is a major feature of Japan. In the field of finance, there are few stores of city banks, and there are head offices of regional banks in each prefecture, and they are developing a business network rooted in the region. In addition, the industry is being reorganized within the Kyushu jurisdiction as a result of an absorption-type merger by a well-funded regional bank for the purpose of relieving regional banks that have suffered from bad debts and have become difficult to manage.

About World Vintage Films

I’m doing a Youtube video of footage taken from the 1910s to the 1980s.
The footage is original and was filmed by my family and my friends while they were traveling.
That’s why most of the footage was shot in Japan.

The first step in the editing process is to convert the video from analog to digital. Then I remove the unnecessary parts and add the original music and subtitles. We don’t want to hide the footage, so we don’t have many subtitles.
Black and white footage may be converted to color.

International and domestic travel around the world, before, during and after the war.
We have over 10,000 films that have not yet been released to the public. We will continue to edit and distribute a few more in the future.

There is a lot of valuable footage. Especially rare are old footage from less developed countries. At that time, the equipment for filming was rare. Pre-war footage of Japan is also valuable. Old cars and trains. There is also footage of airplanes shot from the sky. Towns and markets, and people. And people. Famous tourist spots and natural scenery. The fashion sense is also interesting and different from today. Enjoy the scenery in the old style.

Mostly on 8mm, 16mm, 9.5mm, 35mm, etc. Newer types of video, such as VHS, are not covered.
