Okutama is located in the the western-most town in Tokyo. It takes two hours by car from central Tokyo. Free parking lots also available available near the lake. It’s a perfect day trip destination and also an attractive destination for hikers. This lake lies above Ogouchi Dam which is also known as Ogouchi Reservoir. This Dam is an important water source for Tokyo. Okutama is an attractive site all year round because you get to see the pink cherry blossoms in spring, the greenery in summer, maple trees in autumn and the snowy lake in winter.
