Maruyama Terraced Rice Fields, Maruyamasenmaida, located in Mie Prefecture, consists of 1,340 pieces of small paddy fields, thus called a “thousand plate fields”. Traditional rice farming and conservation activities are held throughout the year to sustain the beautiful landscape of terraced paddy fields of Japan. The spectacular view is gorgeous both during the day with the greenery and late in the afternoon when the sun meets the horizon.
