Our first hiking trip in Japan was chosen randomly, and it turned out to be really cool! Mount Daisen (大山) in the Tottori Prefecture of Japan is little known, and we saw few other visitors, but still looks HUGE up close – the name means Big Mountain after all! We climb up to the Buddhist and Shinto temples, and had a blast in our first onsen (hot springs bath)! No footage from this onsen but we’ll have lots in future episodes. We wrap up the day by train to Matsue (松江), and had trouble finding a restaurant that allows children!
