We are taking you to Japan in this video which has a unique culture compared to other countries in the world. In this video, we’ll bring you some beautiful locations that we travelled in Japan and also a magical attraction for travellers during Spring.
We got into Shinkansen from Tokyo station to head to Kitakami. This is to explore something that we long awaited. We could reduce our travel cost a lot since we purchased a Japan Rail Pass (JR Pass) before we arrived Japan. JR Pass covers many Shinkansen lines, certain buses and ferries as well. We’ll talk about some important details about JR Pass, benefits and its cost in this video which would be helpful for you.
We could see the famous and unique Koinobori kites while crossing the Kitakami river toward Tenshochi Park. We’ll tell you the story behind these kites and its connection to Japanese culture.
Both of us were surprised by the view when we got closer to the Tenshochi Park. Entire park was full of trees with blooming Sakura flowers which we long awaited to experience. This park has about 10,000 Sakura trees and some trees are more than 80 years old. Sakura flower-viewing has been part of Japanese culture from the ancient times. It felt like snowing when we walked through park’s Sakura tree tunnel due to falling of Sakura petals against winds. We walked further while enjoying this beautiful experience. Most important thing is to check the Sakura forecast in advance and plan your trip. In this video, we’ll talk about more details on Sakura and finding the right time to visit by following the forecast.
After our Sakura experience, we started our journey to Sapporo which is located around 1,100 km north of Tokyo. We visited Teine ski resort which was the first in Asia to host Winter Olympic Games.
Sapporo soup curry is a unique food that we tried during our stay in Sapporo and we’ll tell you the interesting facts about this dish in the video.
