It’s easy to see why Matsumoto Castle is a National Treasure, with its striking black exterior (earning it the nickname ‘Crow Castle’) and vermillion bridges set amongst the backdrop of the Northern Alps. 🏯🏔

Climb to the top of the castle turret for gorgeous panoramic views in the daytime, and return for an evening stroll to enjoy stunning scenes of the illuminated castle reflected in the moat. It also hosts a range of seasonal festivals throughout the year, such as Japanese taiko drumming over summer, soba noodles in autumn and ice sculptures in winter.

How would you enjoy ‘Crow Castle’?
