The New Year period is traditionally a very busy time in Hakuba with the Japanese public holidays and the influx of international visitors coming here to ski and snowboard. Covid has stemmed that so the locals have been feasting on the fantastic conditions with uncrowded runs. A meter of snow fell over a couple of days here. The snow on the balcony is in Echoland which is the main bar and restaurant area of Hakuba. Usually you can double the amount that has fallen there to gauge what is up on the resorts. See you next week.
