This time, I walked around the shopping street near Takikawa station. Takikawa city is located about 1 hour and 30 minutes northeast of Sapporo by car. This city is a heavy snowfall region in Japan. The arcade in this shopping street is different in shape from the others. The shape of the arcade roof is rounded to make it easier for snow to fall from the roof. With fewer shops and fewer people, the arcade will still protect this street from the snow.

今回は滝川駅近くの商店街を歩いてみました．滝川市は札幌から車で北東に約1時間半車で行った所にあります．この町は日本の中でもとても雪の多い地域です．ここのアーケードは他のとは形が異なっています．積もった雪が落ちやすいように，屋根が丸くなっています．今ではこの通りのお店も人も少なくなってしまいましたが，それでもアーケードは雪から商店街を守り続けます．
