Hitachi Sea Side Park (Kaihin Koen)
The park is located in Ibaraki prefecture, Hitachinaka city, and about 130km far from Tokyo, facing the Pacific Ocean. The park facilities include, a Flower garden, Amusement park, Grass field, Natural Forest, Water fountain and a Barbeque area. The main attraction of the park is the flower garden which provides different variety of flowers throughout the year, like in spring tulips, early summer roses and sunflower will bloom here. Mentioning the history of Hitachi Sea Side Park, after the world war second, this place was used by American Airforce for their firing exercise and bombing but it was created many tragic incidents due to accidental firing and explosions. Many people were died in these incidents and local people were started protesting against this, and later US handover this area to Japanese people. For memorising the the lost, suffering, the whole area was converted and now it became very famous as Hitachi Sea Side Peace Memorial Park. Every year thousands of peoples are visiting here from all over Japan and from foreign countries.
