A halo of sky surrounds the impressive ‘Hill of the Buddha’ statue at Makomanai Takino Cemetery Cemetery in the outskirts of Sapporo in northern Japan. 😇 Designed by world-famous architect Tadao Ando, this giant Buddha is submerged in a hill covered with 150,000 lavender plants.
