This is an (now old) trailer for a Travel “film” about Japan. I filmed this during my 4-week vacation to Japan in 2010. This trailer was made specially for the birthday of my co-traveler and guide. It’s is a bit cheezy and trying to be epic, but kind of on purpose 😉 . The full film is 117 minutes, divided into 3 parts, covering most of the key locations we visited there and all the little trips in between. I’m a huge fan of cinematic soundtracks and I love editing as a hobby, so I spent a year (very part-time) working on this film, trying to make it less of a typical vacation video, and more of a audiovisual trip with the occasional funny bits and some change in pacing here and there to keep people from totally falling asleep.

The vacation to Japan itself was one of the most memorable experiences in my life. Instead of a “typical” summer vacation you practically enter a different world.
It’s beauty, hospitality, rich culture and style are overwhelming. It’s all the things you might have expected from it and it’ll teach you so many new things as well. It goes way beyond just enjoying your free time and seeing a famous building or temple.
And if you have any interest in the country already, after coming home you probably will miss it as much as I do right now.
