Akeno Himawari Batake (Akeno Sunflower Field), located in Hokuto City of Yamanashi Prefecture, is one of the great spots for viewing sunflowers with the Japan Alps range in the background. People visit here for the annual Sunflower Festival, which takes place between late-July and late-August, featuring photo contests and local farmers markets.
