Day 5/9 of our Japan trip last February. We spent more than half a day in Universal Studios Osaka and then a quick trip to Osaka Castle and Dontonbori.
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Universal Studios was amazing. The queue for the rides would take at least an hour if you do not have a quick pass (VIP) even if it is a weekday. The butterbeer was good.
Osaka Castle was easy to find. If you are commuting, it would take about 15 minutes walk to get to the Castle from the train station. We were there on February 13th, which was still winter, but the plum orchard in the castle was already starting to bloom.
Dotonbori has a lot of great food places. There are also a lot stores to shop from.
