We went to visit Shurij Castle just one week BEFORE IT WAS BURNT DOWN.. this was such shocking news when we heard that the castle had burnt down due to an electrical system glitch, or at least thats what they suspected cause it! More than 100 firefighters were at the scene to put out at blaze but they struggle due to strong winds. This wooden castle was 500 years old and had been restored after WW2 and opened to the public as a tourist site in 1992.
