DiverCity Tokyo Plaza is a very well known shopping mall, located in the heart of Odaiba, a large artificial island in Tokyo Bay. A little bit about this shopping mall: It has a wide variety of branded fashion stores, authentic japanese restaurants and a bunch of themed cafes and shops, such as Doraemon Future Department Store, Gundam Base, Gundam Factory (museum) and Gundam Cafe.
Just outside the mall, you will be greeted by a huge, life-size, 1:1 scale, gundam statue, standing tall at the height of 72ft. The first statue installed was RX-78-2, one of the legendary original gundam model. Later in 2017, it was replaced by RX-0 Unicorn Gundam, which can be transformed between Unicorn Mode and Destroy Mode during their daily animated show.
For Gundam fans around the world, this is one of the must-go-to-places for you when you’re visiting Tokyo.
