Mt Fuji is probably one of the most iconic picture scapes of Japan. We took a day trip from Tokyo to visit Oshino Hakkai, Ninja Village, and the famous Chureito Pagoda. Join us on our journey as we take a day trip into the Mt Fuji region. No need to book expensive tours, you can do this one yourself!
Oshino Hakkai is about 1.5 to 2 hours away from the main city Tokyo. It is a little town between Lake Kawaguchiko and Lake Yamanakako. It has an old town feel that makes you feel all warm inside. Famous for their water, you can purchase a bottle there and take some with you. They also have street vendors selling food, souvenirs, and other goodies.
Ninja Village is 5 minutes away from the Oshino Hakkai city center and is a village for all things ninja. Entrance is 1000yen, but you get to watch a real life ninja show up close and personal and get to try shooting ninja stars yourself. Fun!
Chureito Pagoda, is a famous pagoda with Mt Fuji as the backdrop. it is located in Arakurayama Sengen Park about another 45 minutes away from Oshino Hakkai. Warning, there are many stairs you have to climb here. They also have ramps, but the stairs are much faster. Once you get up top, the views are fantastic, nothing quite like the view at the Chureito Pagoda.
