In this video, we would like to share with you a complete guide tour to the most Cheapest and Delicious Unadon (Eel Rice) in Tokyo, Japan – Unatoto.
Gilled Eel and Rice (Unadon) is a much-beloved delicacy in Japan. However, due to the difficulty in catching Eels and the labor-intensive baking process, that makes the delicious Unadon a pricey and expensive dish in Japan. On an average, one dish of Unadon serving costs between ¥2,000 to ¥3,000 Japanese yen, hence, when Nadai Unatoto (the founder of Unatoto) started selling Unadon at an unbelievable below market-breaking price of ¥500 Japanese yen per bowl, it sparked a lot of media attention. How could they ask such a low price? What about the quality and taste? Well, Let’s find out!
Located just 5 minutes away from the Asakusa Temple, you can easily spot this restaurant from the main road. Unatoto Asakusa is a well decorated building with kawaii anime designed pictures.
The menu offers a variety Eel dishes in different serving portions. For small eaters, you may opt for the cheapest Unadon offered at a bargain price of ¥550 Japanes yen or for those foodie who enjoys a larger meal, the “Surprise Weight” is not only a deal but a good bargain! A whole char-grilled eel served on top of a bed of well cooked delicious rice priced at only ¥2200 is guaranteed to satisfy your unagi cravings!
We ordered both Unadon and Super Weight to try on. The unagi is incredibly tender, juicy and so succulent, instantly melts in the mouth! One perfect meal value for money. If you are planning for a holiday to Japan anytime soon or are already in Japan now, we really recommend you to try it the delicious Unadon in Unatoto. Trust us, you won’t regret it! 🙂
