The Yamaga Lantern Festival lights up the night!
Yamaga, in Kumamoto Prefecture, is known for its lanterns and beautiful paper umbrellas, which are used to light up the town during the festival. In fact, women even wear them on their heads for a dance procession they perform as part of the festivities. The celebrations take place on Friday and Saturday nights in February.
