During this cloudy day city walk in winter, I will take you on a Essen City walking tour.
Essen is the central and second largest city of the Ruhr, the largest urban area in Germany. Its population of 583,109 makes it the ninth largest city of Germany, as well as the fourth largest city of the federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia(West Germany). On the Ruhr and Emscher rivers, Essen geographically is part of the Rhineland and the larger Rhine-Ruhr Metropolitan Region.
Essen is decidedly gaining ground in importance and denotation as an attractive city. More than 700 retail shops and boutiques are the reason why Essen’s downtown area has been such an attractive shopping place of long standing, and its cultural centers of attraction are quite convincing. This is another West Germany city walk where I am exploring the city-center in a compact form. I hope you can relax and enjoy this walk. This wonderful German city is located closely from the place where I live and I might return in the future if you would like to see more of it.
