Also known as “Doll’s Day” or “Girls’ Day,” this yearly festival is celebrated all around Japan, to pray for the health and happiness of girls. Most families celebrate with special foods and by setting up elaborate displays of dolls in Heian period clothing.
Akiha Sohonden Kasuisai takes this tradition to the next level. With 1200 dolls set on 32 steps, they have Japan’s largest display of hina dolls! The event runs from January 1st to March 31st.
