Short video footage showing the 2013 Hatsumode at the Fushimi Inari Taisha, one of the most popular places to visit on New Year in Japan.
According to the official statistics, in 2012 about 2.7 million people came to visit this Shinto Shrine Complex to pray for health and good fortune for the new year.
A walk along the grounds of this magnificent Shrine is a great experience any time of the year. When visiting, don’t forget to take a look at the Senbon Torii or One Thousand Gates, and if you have enough time, I also recommend you to walk around the paths on the Inari Mountain, with lots of small Shrines, some old style restaurant and shop and many secrets for you to discover.
