Hirosaki Neputa Festival is a summer festival which is one of the four major festivals in Hirosaki.

This festival was designated an important intangible folk-cultural property of Japan in 1980
The participant’s parade throughout the city towards the call of “Yah-Ya-Doh”, pulling the parade floats of Samurai figures and Samurai paintings. About 80 neputa parade floats, including the ougi-neputa (a fan-shaped neputa) and kumi neputa (a man-shaped neputa), Today, there are also Kid’s Neputa and Lantern with letters. The majestic figure of Kagamie(Front pictures) presents the mysterious profundity of Miokurie(Back pictures) exquisite contrast. And Kumi Neputa is traditionally brilliance. They run during the festival with Neputa flute melodies and Neputa drum beats and operated by Hirosaki citizens.
