► Here’s a look at the much overlooked “Nezu Jinja” – a Shinto buddhist Shrine in Eastern Tokyo. Often overshadowed by it’s more famous cousins, “Meiji Jingu” and “Senso-Ji”, which is a shame, as Nezu Jinja is really beautiful in its own way, and somehow offers a more intimate atmosphere than most other temples and shrines around Tokyo.
If you’re looking for a genuine “classic Japan” experience, at a place which isn’t overcrowded with hordes of western tourists, then teh Nezu shrine is really the place to go. I spent 2 hours there, on a Satruday afternoon, and I didn’t see any tourists apart from a couple of Chinese.
If you happen to be in Tokyo, I highly recommend a visit to this shrine. Easy access to Nezu Station by Chiyoda Line, Tokyo Metro. – Enjoy!
