While both have earned a place in the prestigious guide, neither has been awarded a Michelin star.

Kōyō: Japanese cuisine with a Mediterranean twist

Located at 14 Rue Emma-et-Philippe-Tiranty, just a short walk from Avenue Jean-Médecin, Kōyō is run by Franco-Japanese chef Naoki Shizuka, whose family has roots in Okinawa.

The restaurant occupies a former tattoo parlour, transformed into an intimate dining space where guests sit at a wooden counter facing the chef.

Its speciality is omakase, a Japanese dining experience in which the chef chooses and prepares the dishes.

The menu combines Japanese traditions with Mediterranean ingredients, featuring fresh local fish, nigiri prepared with three different types of rice and inventive flavour combinations.

Celebrating its inclusion in the Michelin Guide France 2027, the restaurant thanked customers for their support and loyalty.

Tina Trattoria: A taste of northern Italy

Meanwhile, near Nice’s port, Tina Trattoria has also caught the attention of Michelin inspectors.

Located at 16 Rue Lascaris, the restaurant occupies the former La Boulisterie Club, a popular indoor pétanque venue.

Run by the Italian-Argentinian couple behind nearby restaurant Onice, Tina Trattoria specialises in the traditional cuisine of Piedmont and Lombardy.

Dishes include vitello tonnato, osso buco, veal Milanese and handmade pasta, including ravioli del plin.

The restaurant also stands out for its elegant interior, featuring marble tables, mirrors, wood panelling and a statement chandelier.

Both establishments are now part of the Michelin Guide’s recommended restaurant selection, highlighting the diversity of Nice’s dining scene.
