Traffic restrictions will once again be in place on Halloween in American Village.
Starting at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 31, access to streets around Mihama American Village near Camp Foster and Kadena Air Base will be limited to buses, taxis, and rental cars. No privately own vehicles or motorcycles will be allowed to drive on those streets until sometime before dawn Sunday, Nov. 1.
The purpose of this restriction, according to the Chatan Town Office, is to deal with heavy traffic congestion expected around the area.
If you happen to be driving in the neighborhood before 8 p.m., you are encouraged to leave the restricted area immediately. Entrance to parking spaces in the area will be blocked at 8 p.m. The west exit by Aeon Chatan Shopping Center will be open for vehicles to leave.
Plan ahead and prevent the heavy traffic from ruining the fun night.
