A new Japanese restaurant has opened in Rehoboth Beach, bringing an extensive sushi menu and other Asian-inspired dishes to the area.
Level X Kitchen & Sushi opened Sept. 29 at 38163 Robinsons Drive, taking over the former Just in Thyme restaurant location along Rehoboth Beach’s Forgotten Mile.
The restaurant is owned by Kenny and Jennifer Qiu, experienced restaurateurs who operate five Sushi Q locations in the Baltimore area, along with several other businesses.
The couple decided to expand to the Delaware beaches after visiting the area on vacation and recognizing an opportunity to offer more affordable sushi options.
Level X features a menu of more than 50 sushi rolls, along with a variety of Japanese-inspired dishes.
The restaurant’s name also reflects a milestone for its owners. The Roman numeral X represents 10, recognizing Level X as the 10th restaurant the couple has opened throughout their careers.

The opening adds another dining option to the Rehoboth Beach restaurant scene, occupying a space previously home to the longtime Just in Thyme restaurant.
