Ueda, Nagano Japan Vlog | Soba, Hot Springs & Mount Neko Hike

Join us for two days in Ueda, Nagano, Japan: local soba, castle-town streets, Bessho Onsen, and a hike up Mount Neko (Nekodake).

On day one, we try walnut soba and summer vegetable soba at Yaguratei, explore Ueda Castle and Yanagimachi, and pick up dango and jimanyaki from Fuji Ice. In the evening, we take the Bessho Line to Bessho Onsen for a hot spring visit.

The next morning, we head to Sugadaira and hike Mount Neko. After a cloudy summit and the walk back down, we finish with soft serve and a coffee float before taking the shinkansen home.
