From 2 February 2027, Air India will launch non-stop flights between Delhi and Osaka, making it the only airline to operate directly between the two cities. The airline will fly four times a week, opening up a new gateway to the city often referred to as “Japan’s kitchen” and a convenient starting point for exploring the country’s famed Golden Route, which takes in Osaka, Kyoto and Tokyo.
The service will operate on Air India’s Boeing 787-8 aircraft, with 18 fully flat beds in Business Class and 241 seats in Economy. Flight AI360 will leave Delhi at 10:50pm on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays, arriving at Osaka’s Kansai International Airport at 9:50am the following morning.
The return flight, AI359, will depart Osaka at 11:50am on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, reaching Delhi at 6:20pm the same day. All timings are local.
The new route also makes multi-city trips easier to plan. Travellers can fly into Osaka and return from Tokyo, or do the reverse, without having to retrace their steps to their arrival city. Osaka will be Air India’s second destination in Japan after Tokyo’s Haneda Airport, which the airline serves with daily flights from Delhi and four weekly flights from Mumbai.
While the exact date hasn’t been announced, Air India confirmed flight bookings will open soon on its website and mobile app.
