As fashion (and sport) lovers, we’re always patiently waiting to see what Naomi Osaka will step out in next. From her all-white kimono at Wimbledon to the rose-adorned hair she wore at last year’s US Open, the 29-year-old tennis star has proven time and time again that she’s one to watch both on and off the court.
At Milan Fashion Week, Osaka traded her on-court entrances for street-style moments, making front-row appearances at some of fashion’s biggest houses, including Ferragamo, Moschino, and Roberto Cavalli. But, rather than settling for a standard street style shot, Osaka turns each look into its own editorial moment. She kicked things off with a short trailer featuring striking black-and-white imagery and cinematic shots of her strolling alongside an Italian villa in a Roberto Cavalli bathing suit and draped shawl. The teaser ended with a simple message: “Milan Fashion Week, to be continued.”
For her first MFW appearance Roberto Cavalli, Osaka leaned into all-black drama in a high-neck dress adorned with delicate lace sleeves and a feathered skirt train that grazed the floor. She completed the look with strappy sandals, while her beauty look kept the focus on her accessories: a sleek, long braided ponytail that allowed her sculptural bamboo square earrings to take center stage.
Rounding out her striking run of appearances across Milan, the tennis star took to Lake Como by boat in a romantic green satin dress accented with pink lace detailing. She paired the look with white strappy sandals adorned with delicate butterfly details, her signature rose-adorned white bag, and chandelier-style earrings that added an extra touch of glamour.
Then, the Japanese-Haitian tennis star made her US Open debut in a custom Who Decides War look commissioned by Law Roach, featuring a dramatic gray hooded cape paired with a floor-length white tulle skirt. She completed the statement-making ensemble with black-and-red arm sleeves from Nike and black So Kate pumps by Christian Louboutin. And, of course, we can’t fail to mention her Allen Iverson-inspired braids.
