The property that was formerly the Kura Barn before becoming a short-lived upscale Japanese restaurant is for sale.

After opening in April of 2025, House of Yoshin closed at the end of August this year. It offered a special kaiseki luxury menu and an omakase experience, with a chef determining the entire menu for the diner.

Kura Barn occupied the space for 46 years, before closing in 2021 with the retirement of its owners. The restaurant then underwent more than two years of renovations before House of Yoshin moved in.

The three-story building is listed for sale at $1.6 million, with 4,855 square feet of space.

In announcing its closure in September, House of Yoshin said, “After much consideration, we’ve made the difficult decision to close our House of Yoshin and Huntington. When we opened our doors in April 2025, we set out to bring something unique to this community, a traditional Japanese dining experience, known as Omakase. Along the way, you taught us something important. What we created didn’t always align with our community’s preferences and expectations. While we believed we were creating value, it’s ultimately you, the customer, who determines true value.”
