KYOTO (TR) – Miyu Murashima, a former gravure idol who abruptly retired from the entertainment industry following an adultery scandal, has re-emerged as a top-earning hostess in Kyoto City, reports Nikkan Sports (Oct. 8).

Miyu Murashima, 28, recently took to Instagram to flaunt her rapid success at a kyabakura (hostess club) in the historic Gion district, revealing she has completely dominated the club’s sales charts.

Murashima, who formally retired from show business at the end of July, announced in August that she had pivoted to the nightlife industry. “I’ve been working at Un Jour Gion in Kyoto for a little while now. My working name is Yu,” she wrote, sharing photos of herself. “I’ll do my best in this new challenge. Please come visit me.”

In an Instagram Story updated on Thursday, the former model shared photos of multiple award certificates proving her swift rise to the top.

She posted certificates for taking first place in both the “Rookie Team” and “Rookie Individual” divisions, commenting, “I am so happy.” She then shared five more certificates from August, sweeping the rankings for the number one spot in area sales, area nominations, and dohan—paid dates with clients prior to club hours.

“Thank you very much,” she wrote in gratitude to her big-spending patrons.

The Osaka Prefecture native’s transition to the cabaret world follows a highly publicized scandal in June, when a news outlet exposed her illicit affair with a professional basketball player.

Facing intense public backlash while reportedly on a health hiatus, Murashima issued an apology before stepping away from the public eye.

“I am truly sorry for the trouble and concern my careless actions have caused to his family, stakeholders, and fans, especially while I was recuperating,” she wrote on social media at the time. “Moving forward, I want to act in a way that earns trust and support.”
