The Madhya Pradesh Travel Mart will begin on Wednesday at the Kushabhau Thakre Convention Centre.

The Madhya Pradesh Travel Mart will begin in Bhopal on Wednesday. The mart, which will run until 10 October, will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav. It will also be attended by 100 guests from around 34 countries, including the United States, France, Japan and Italy, who will share their experiences, packages and other details with domestic tour operators.

More than 600 representatives, including 180 domestic tour operators from 15 states, will also attend. At the inauguration, investment proposals and agreements worth more than ₹1,100 crore in the state will be finalised, while a mega investment agreement worth ₹848.40 crore will be signed in Sehore.

The seventh edition, a B2B platform The event is set to become the largest and most strategic business-to-business (B2B) networking platform in the state’s tourism landscape so far. Minister Dharmendra Bhav Singh Lodhi will chair the launch programme.

More than 21 crore tourists visited last year

Dr Ilaiyaraaja T., Secretary of Tourism and Managing Director of the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board, said that tourist footfall recorded a historic 57% increase in 2025.

As a result, the total number of tourists in the state has reached 21.05 crore. The primary objective of MPTM 2026 is to transform this rapid growth into global investment, modern infrastructure and sustainable livelihood opportunities.

In this edition of MPTM 2026, more than 100 foreign delegates and tourism stakeholders from over 34 major countries across the world are participating in the mart in person.

These include major European nations such as the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Greece, the Netherlands, Poland, Finland, Bulgaria, Belarus, Albania, Hungary and Slovakia.

Leading tour operators and travel writers from the Americas-the United States, Canada and Mexico; the Asia-Pacific region-Australia, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, the Philippines and Sri Lanka; and West Asia and Africa-the United Arab Emirates, Israel, Mauritius, Kenya and Russia-have reached Bhopal.

At the national level too, more than 180 major domestic tour operators from over 15 states and Union Territories across the country-including Delhi, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Kerala, Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Goa, Haryana, Odisha, and Jammu and Kashmir-are taking part.

Proposals worth over ₹1,100 crore to be finalised During the event, joint investment proposals and contracts worth over ₹1,100 crore are being finalised. As part of this, private investors will be formally handed Letters of Award (LOAs) worth ₹252 crore for 14 major projects to establish hotels, wellness resorts, luxury tented camps and eco-tourism units in various regions of the state.

In addition, LOAs are being awarded for the development of state-of-the-art “wayside facility centres” along the state’s three major tourism highways to make tourists’ road journeys smoother, safer and cleaner.

The biggest attraction is the ₹848.40-crore mega tourism investment agreement to be signed in Ramgarh, Sehore district. Under this contract between the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board and M/s ARM Foods Private Limited, an international-standard golf course, golf villas, a wellness resort, a luxury hotel and high-end hospitality infrastructure will be built in Ramgarh.

The massive project will not only give the tourism map of the Vindhya and Malwa regions global recognition, but will also create around 920 direct and hundreds of indirect local jobs in the area.

Maa Ki Rasoi set up A special live counter, ‘Maa Ki Rasoi’, has been established to introduce guests to Madhya Pradesh’s unique cuisine and the United Nations’ millet promotion mission.

It will serve purely traditional and nutritious dishes such as kodo-methi rice, jowar-bajra rotis, buttermilk potatoes, chakki ka saag, nighauna, Malwa-Nimar’s famous dal bafla, roasted aubergine bharta, and fresh sil-batta chutneys.
