Exclusive creations at nearly 20 Montreal restaurants, an interactive neighbourhood-by-neighbourhood route, and a jury of food-loving ambassadors mark the 5th edition of Quebec’s largest ramen festival.
Sansotei Ramen
From October 12 to 25, 2026, Montreal will celebrate the 5th edition of RAMEN RAMEN MTL, the iconic festival honouring the most beloved comfort food in Japanese culinary culture. As ramen overtakes sushi at the top of international foodies’ and travelers’ preferences, Montreal’s food scene confirms its standing as a must-visit culinary destination with a trail spanning in nearly 20 establishments across the city.
For two weeks, participating chefs will compete in creativity, offering standout ramen bowls, some created exclusively for the event: from traditional tonkotsu broths simmered for hours to bold fusion creations (including Latino-Japanese twists at Escondite, Vietnamese-Japanese at La Belle Tonki, izakaya-style at Biiru, and fully vegan recipes at Umami Ramen).
Ramen lovers will be able to taste these unique creations and vote for their favourite bowl directly on the festival’s website to award the People’s Choice Prize.
