Yes. Gave one to my Japanese granddad about 20 years ago. He told me whisky must be Scottish lol.
Same with my dad (Brazilian), but dad got hooked and Suntory became his favourite brand.
Hibiki, Chita, Yamasaki… His fav was the turtle!

This is good stuff! I haven’t compared to Yamazaki. I kind of prefer Toki in general for a Suntroy whisky. but do like Hibiki.

Had a special one that was very old from behind a wooden cabinet in a tiny bar in Tokyo and was heavenly. Brought back a whiskey for my grandad that year and proceeded to drink it with family after.

Excellent sipper. It’s a luxury Japanese whisky blending malts and grains from multiple prefecture, all aged 21 years or more. Any aging in Japan is a big increase in price because of high storage cost (limited land) and all the natural disasters that causes product loss.
Subtle yet complex in its flavors that continues to develop in your palate.
