I spent five days travelling from Tokyo to Osaka on Japan’s local trains.

Instead of taking the Shinkansen (the bullet train), I’m taking the slow route through the Japanese countryside, stopping in small towns and finding out what budget travel in Japan actually looks like.

  1. I was hesitant to watch this video because it is so long, but I just watched the whole thing and never got bored, and honestly it made me want to go to Japan more than ever before. ❤ Though for YouTube reasons, I would still split a video like this into 2 parts. Also, without offense, can I ask what is the condition of your legs? Your right leg in particular was giving me anxiety while watching you walk. 😅

  2. Imagine still giving a shit about football in 2026. that shit is boring to watch. All the commercials just ruined the game

  3. Congrats man! Seriously, your content is so good! always interesting, genuine and really enjoyable to watch. Keep it coming 👏

  4. Do you have a crypto wallet for donations? Don't want to give patreon or j-wtube anything. You've made some of my favorite videos to watch. I really liked your patreon video in the woods, it's too bad youtube doesn't promote anything high effort.

  5. Now this is my kind of trip fk tokyo. I cant wait to go out and just get lost and struggle with my bad japanese.

  6. I thought you were lucky to attend such an event randomly, but the real winners are us, because we got this video, we eatin good today

  7. Paahtis, thank you so much for making this video.

I’m currently back home after spending four weeks in Japan, and I’m already really missing the vibes that Japan offered. Your videos and content style somehow take me right back there — it feels like I’m walking the streets late at night with a friend.

Your videography and editing style are perfectly paced and grounded in a special feeling that really reflects the reality of everyday life in Japan. There’s something very genuine about the way you capture these moments.

This video is by far my favorite so far. And at 11:45 the random dog helping to push the float was such a wholesome moment. 😂❤️

Best regards from Sweden! 🇸🇪 And please, never give up on making YouTube videos. Me and so many others will keep supporting you until the algorithm finally picks up your channel and gives you the views and recognition you deserve.

Keep going — your work is appreciated more than you probably realize!

  8. Those container rooms look similar what Markus Kiili (in Youtube) is using while bicycling through Japan.

  9. I am so happy to see a new video…. Your content is always so wonderful…. Its also great to hear you speak Japanese, I think the best reason to learn Japanese is to able to speak to grandmas in small resturants🙂… Thank you for being awesome.

  10. One of your best videos and probably my favorite piece of content I watched this year. Love this style of video showing the countryside and the food and even though you joke about it (Temu AiJ 😂) You really are getting very good at both presenting and storytelling.

It all felt very organic and really reminded me of the first (and best) Journey Across Japan series. Keep it up!

  11. I'm 15 mins in, very entertaining so far!
love the vibes of Japanese Festivals, I hope I can someday experience one in person

Gonna have to watch this in chunks as I don't have 1.5h to spare rn, I actually should already be sleeping to get my 8 hours ahaha

  12. Just wanted to say I really enjoyed watching this last night. The weird fish selling culture, the actual semi-original looking castle, and the shots of bugs/wildlife/nature were my favorites.
I can also say some of those trains had sick 90's style cloth seats. So nostalgic.

  13. 43:10 This is a very rare section where a passenger ferry route is designated as the “maritime section” of a national highway.

  14. Great video, was lovely to see all the different parts of Japan and the food looks amazing too!

  15. This was very enjoyable to watch. Glad to see you had a great time during your trip. Looking forward to my trip to Kyushu area in November! 😄

  16. Odotin jo innolla että jossain vaiheessa pärähtää Chrisin käyttämä "Tydydydyyydydydydydyyyyy dydydyyy dydydydydydyyyy" teema mutta ei 😀

  17. Thanks for making such an awesome video!! Here's enough to at least get you a decent bowl of ramen, though you actually deserve a lot more! 👍🏻👏🏻😄
